Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip

Two things that I spend on when it comes to makeup: foundation and lipstick. That’s why I got really curious about the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip. It seems to be the flavor lippie of the year. I can’t wait to try it! They’re affordable at SR 120 for 3 pieces at Irene’s Closet (SR 40 each) so I went for Bumble, Solow, and Trap. When I first tried ’em, they came my instant face liquid lipstick! I am in love with them!

Unlike other matte liquid lipstick that I’ve tried (I’m looking at you ABH Pure Hollywood), Colourpop’s version is easier to apply. It goes on opaque on the first swipe and it feels light. It’s also forgiving when it comes to my lip lines. They settle nicely without highlighting them too much. (I place a lip balm first to fill the lines to help smoothen the application). And the colors are gorgeous!

Trap is what Colourpop calls us “greige.” A dusty greyed out beige color that looks pale when you’re fair but since I’m morena, it looks like a greyish purple on my lips. Bumble, a warm terracotta, is a color great for day and night use. It’s like an MLBB during the day and a dusty vamp color during the night with additional swipes. Solow is the perfect “pink” for me. I don’t use a lot of pinks in my lips because it makes me look super sweet (and I don’t like that sweet look, hindi bagay sa’kin haha) but this color is a nude pink which makes me sweet with a little bit of spunk. Hahaha! My wishlist right now is to own every color there is of Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip. But since I can’t I’ll settle for the next three: Tulle, Midi and 1st Base. Can’t wait to get them!
