Nyx Matte Finishing Powder

I’m on a NYX binge so it seems. With their fairly reasonable price range, it’s not much of a risk to try their products out so I’m off taking their loose powder line out for a spin, priced at 44SR. Labeled as “Set it & Don’t Fret It”, this NYX Mineral Matte Finishing Powder comes in a compact case that’s easy to carry around and would fit your makeup kit quite nicely. However, the usage of it can be a little messy as per my initial use where in the loose powder was still teeming out of the puff holes too generously and I had to be careful when opening it up so that I wouldn’t waste the product so easily.

As for the matte effect, I did find it very effective as a final touch to my morning makeup routine diminishing any shiny spots from the moisturizer and foundation which I have on (another NYX product I’ll talk about later). It’s powdered material so it’s really supposed to do that anyway. The grains were light and I used the NYX 02 Soft Beige color palette to match my skin tone. Of course, if your skin tone is lighter, you can choose 01 Ivory. I’m happy that I didn’t need to re-apply it for the rest of the day, as long as I stay in the office and not leave the airconditioned vicinity. For the price range, you won’t really need to fret┬ácompared to the same products priced at 60SR and above in other makeup/beauty stores. I was able to finish this one compact in almost two months so I find that to be a good deal.

Again, my major irk with this product is the packaging. I found it problematic and can cause uneven application if you’re not careful with ‘leveling’ out the powder first before dipping your brush and applying it on your face. Otherwise, if you are patient and not in a rush every morning, then do take your sweet time before opening and applying it.
